Kohls has one of the worst return policies EVER. I could literally walk in to the store, pick something up, go back and say I want to return this, but I don't have the receipt, and they would give me in store credit. Serious? That's a horrible return policy!
Even worse. I went in to exchange my wallet today. Three weeks ago I bought a wallet and belt (buy one get one half off). The wallet cost $26 and the belt cost $24, after the half off rebate it was $40.28. So... I went in to exchange the wallet. The new wallet that I wanted cost $28 instead of $26, so I should just have to pay a difference of $2, right? No. Since I'm only "returning" one item I only get the different half of what I originally paid. So by returning the wallet I get $19.64. Are you serious? I just want to EXCHANGE the wallet for a different one and I'll pay the difference. "I'm sorry, it doesn't work that way." Well your policy is STUPID! So what did I have to do? I had to go back to my house, get the freaking belt, take them both back, return the wallet AND the belt together only to purchase the belt again, and the new wallet for a grand total of $42.40. Hello, dipstick, That's $2.12, EXACTLY what I wanted to do in the first place.
Kohls, do yourself a favor and get a new return/exchange policy, cause this guy isn't coming back. Ever. Period. Pain in the place where the sun don't shine!

Farewell Weekend. But not Farewell for me.
So last weekend I had my farewell. It was a really great weekend!
On Saturday a couple friends from Provo came up. I was so excited to see them! My family came over and we all watched the BYU game (we won). Then we hung out for a bit. We went out and got some Frozen Yogurt (delicious) and later that night we played games as a family. Great times! Then some friends from Utah State came over and we played more games until about 1:30 and then we all hit the hay.
Sunday morning was great! My dad made breakfast, delicious! And then I played Wii with friends and family. Good times. Then there was a mad rush to get everything I needed done! I had all of my family from Utah in my house, which was crazy! Plus my family and two friends who spent the night. I had to try to figure out what to wear since my suit pants were getting tailored, then I had to change some buttons on the cardigan I wore (THANK YOU GRANDMA!) and printed off my talk.
The actual speaking part of the farewell went really well! I had the opportunity to speak with one of my former young men's leaders. It was a great experience! I did cry in my farewell... I really didn't want to cry in my farewell, but I did anyway. After I finished, one person (no name said), came up to shake my hand and the first thing he said was "it was one plan...." and proceeded to correct my talk. He never said good job, congratulations, I enjoyed your talk, or anything like that. He only corrected me. That made me feel wonderful. Everyone else seemed to like my talk, but I don't think anyone would tell me they hated it...
The food was fantastic (thanks Mom and Grandma! and everyone else who made something). The rest of the afternoon I spent saying goodbyes, "see you soon"s, and spending some time with friends and family for maybe one of the last times in a couple years or longer. I'm really looking forward to entering the MTC next week! It still feels like it's a long ways away though!

The Grammys
So I recorded the Grammys last night and watched them this morning. Since when do you get 5,000 performances and 2 award winners? Seriously, they only showed between 5 and 10 of the awards that were won out of like what, 100? I mean, I realize we don't care about all of the awards out there, but do you really think I want to take the time to go to the website and search for the awards I was interested in? Lame!
Now on to the performances... Lady Gaga... What the crap!? Number 1, what was up with your spiky shoulders!? I still can't figure out what that was about, other than Lady Gaga being. well. Lady Gaga. The song was alright. But the Grammys are about MUSIC, not the dancing or the background dancers with you. When I watch Grammy performances I do it to hear people SING well, not watch some weird choreography in weird costumes. Thanks for ruining that one Lady Gaga. When Aretha Franklin was on the Grammys (no, not in the 70s, just within the last decade) what did she do? She stood there and sang her dang song! And SHE actually sang it. The recording didn't have to come in cause she was being doing some stupid dance move that doesn't make any sense. I will never like Lady Gaga, I'm sorry.
There were some AWESOME performances though. Personally, I'm a fan of Eminem. I liked both of the songs he did. He is seriously one of the greatest rappers ever, even if you don't like him. I really enjoyed Muse's performance as well. Although, again, I don't understand the dancing part on the stage. Mumford and Sons were pretty awesome as well. One of my favorite performances was a short little diddy called "Jolene" performed by Norah Jones, John Mayer, and Kieth Urban. Pretty legit.
Needless to say, overall the Grammys were good, I just wish I could see a few more award winners, a lot less dancing, and a lot less Lady Gaga.

RayBan say WHAT?
So today was... exciting I guess. I got to go around and do some more stuff for my mission. I thought I'd be done by now, but I guess not. I had to go to the court house to get a criminal background check and then I had to send it to the Secretary of the State of Idaho to get a Certificate of Authentication (whatever that is?) and then I got finger-printed (I still don't know why). After all that court house business I went to the mall to get some more of my pants for my mission, then I went and got my new glasses (some SICK RayBan's).
Unfortunately, my RayBan's have a crack type thing in them so I've gotta take them back in tomorrow to get new lenses before I leave, but I need them to be mint before I leave for two years. So I'm gonna do that tomorrow. But I'm still stoked that I got the RayBan's.
After all that I went and got a flu shot. The shot didn't hurt at all, but a couple hours later it definitely doesn't feel good. It's kind of sore and tight but nothing I can't handle. Then I did a whole bunch of other stuff that really wasn't that exciting (I don't think). Until the BYU basketball game. Jimmer was a machine again. The final score was BYU 90 - AFA 51. Jimmer had 25 points (he would have had more but they took him out with over 3 minutes to go. Lame.) But the win was awesome.
There was a damper on the day though... My little sister has been complaining the last couple days about not being able to take a car to school. I really don't think it's that big of a deal. She has someone who is able and willing to TAKE her to school, someone who can take her to LUNCH, and someone who can go and PICK HER UP. Where's the problem? Also, the car she wants to take deprives 2 other people of the ability to do anything (myself and my mother). My mom works, and I have errands to run during the day before my mission. So why should the car go and sit, unused, for 7 and half hours on the street? Ya, exactly. If you hadn't crashed the car, it wouldn't be as much of a problem. That sounds really mean. I love my sister a lot, but no matter how hard my parents and I try to reason her through why she doesn't need the car at school, she still gets upset and complains. It just doesn't make any sense logically, at all. Done complaining now.
On the positive (or negative side, depending on how you look at it), I have less than 2 weeks before I enter the MTC in Provo. I am so excited to start this incredible journey in my life! I've been waiting for this for 19 years, and I've been waiting to go to the MTC to serve in Guatemala for over 4 months. That is a LONG time waiting, especially when you know where you're going and don't have anything else to do with your time. SO STOKED!!
Peace and blessings, peace and blessings. (If you are unfamiliar, view http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gtkU2ch0sRI ) SO funny.

My weekend in Utah
We've all heard the expression, "Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans". Man, ain't that the truth.
Sampson, a kid at Utah State, just said that that's a lie. He doesn't make plans. But... that's not what this is about. I was going to say that I've been having a pretty chill past couple of days. Last weekend I went down to Provo to see some old friends from last semester before I go to the MTC. One morning I got sick, so my plans really didn't happen at all. That's life. However, I still had a good time and got to see some friends.
I also got to go to the BYU vs. UNLV game while I was in Provo. AWESOME! I have missed BYU basketball games so much! They just aren't the same when you're sitting on your couch. I'm glad my team was able to pull out the win for my last game (in the arena) for a couple years. GREAT game. Jimmer Fredette is still a machine.
Sunday night I drove up to Utah State from Provo. The drive wasn't anything special, duh. The canyon is pretty ugly, but whatever. Last night I came to my friend DJ's apartment and watched the Super Bowl for a little bit and ate some food (Go Packs!! Glad the Steelers didn't win... tools!) Then I went over to the Towers and hung out with some people. I was playing guitar (cause I always play the guitar) and this random kid some of my friends know, we'll call him "White" so as not to disclose his identity, gave a ridiculous opinion about me. I don't really care what people think of me, but this kid was ridiculous. He told my friend Becca that I am a pretty good guitar player, not a great singer (I admit, I'm mediocre, but the kid didn't hear me sing anyway, so how does that work?), and some other stuff like I'm not outgoing for fun at all. Okay? And not to go crushing on Premies (pre mission guys) because they just go and leave. I'm sorry White, but you missed on pretty much everything. You can't give someone your opinion on a person you just met, it doesn't work like that. (Bytheway, everyone else that I met that night liked me... so...). Anyway, now that I'm done with White, my evening was still pretty good. Until life happened.
We were hanging out, we made muddy buddies, we were talking, watching videos, etc. then my stomach decided to freak out with my stupid acid reflux and I felt terrible, but I had to leave cause I thought I might throw up, and I felt horrible for leaving early, but life happens. I had a great experience back at DJ's apartment though, so I obviously left for a good reason, I just didn't know why at the time.
I'm looking forward to the rest of my stay here in Logan with my friends and then to go home and finish getting ready for my mission. I'm so excited and ready to go! That's my update... sorry it's been so long, and it was kind of whiny there in the middle...

I love you, Maggie.
Tragedy struck today in the hearts of millions! Or maybe just me... It really wasn't THAT bad... but it's still kind of upsetting.
Today my sister was in a car accident! (She's fine, thank goodness!) I can't give any details about her or the accident on the internet, that's just not acceptable. However... I do believe my Jeep, Maggie, was killed in this accident. This loss saddens me.
Maggie and I have been through quite a bit together this last year and a half. Although Maggie was not my first car, she is probably the best car I've had. She just turned 14 years old. Maggie and I went through senior year of high school together! So much happens when you're a senior in high school! We went on lots of drives together! A few dates. Some... parties of various varieties... Spinning cookies in the snow :) Weaving through traffic to get back to school after lunch. Lots of good times.
She was also my first (and so far only) car in college! That's a lot to me! Maggie was perfect to take to college! Being a Jeep Grand Cherokee she had space for a lot of junk in her trunk! She had space for so many things, which was good cause I took a lot of stuff to college. We had a lot of good memories at college too. Trips to the hot springs, trips to the movies, late night escapades to Wal-Mart and other 24 hr. establishments. A wonderful trip home and back from Thanksgiving break where I threw up while driving (sorry Mags!) I just wish I could tell you and remember myself all the wonderful memories that Maggie and I had together. I will always remember you Maggie. Try to remember me?
Love, Andrew, the best butt your seat has held (probably... except for maybe one or two people who rode in my car...). You're the best, Mags.
P.s. Right after I posted this the first time, I saw an ad on the side for 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokees. (Tear shed)
